During his last spurt of creativity, Etrog returned to creating two-dimensional wall constructions, just like the ones he made during his art-school years 40 years earlier.

Using found materials – such as wood scraps, plastic milk boxes and rubber door mats – Etrog created abstract works with vibrant colours and diverse textures, which exude originality and creative joy, but at the same time deal with hard subject matters such as Word War II and the Holocaust.
