The Sorel Etrog Collection, Hennick Family Wellness Centre, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, ON

While most well known as a sculptor, Etrog painted all throughout his career. The Rite of Spring is Etrog’s largescale homage to Igor Stravinsky’s famous musical piece, a celebration of movement and flow through Etrog’s signature “links” style. This painting is a part of a series of dance-inspired works, which demonstrate his lifelong interest in depicting the power and energy of dance.
